Installing
Crown Mouldings in Condominiums

Installing mouldings in high
rise condominiums is very different from the procedures typically used in a
wood framed house. High rises require additional considerations like:
- The additional time it takes to cut 12 or 14ft long trims
in order to fit into elevators and then reassembling them on the job site.
- In a wood frame house, we can pin or nail the mouldings
in place. In condos, where you have a concrete ceiling, wooden blocks need
to be glued in place, allow setting time, and then nail the trim into the
wooden blocks.
- Parking can be a problem
- Arrangements need to be made with property management
for use of the elevator, and an area to cut in before hand.
- See as how individual unit owners can not control their
our humidity, in many cases, this results in additional
warranty calls.

The illustration on the left shows
how we place returns on either sides of sprinkler heads. We
treat smoke alarms the same way.
Although these extra procedures add to cost, Elite Moulding's cornices are
still faster, and simpler to install and cost less than plaster mouldings. |
